Operation Anthropoid: The Most Important Assassination of WW2

Operation Anthropoid: The Most Important Assassination of WW2 tells the dramatic story of the mission to eliminate Reinhard Heydrich, one of the most powerful and feared leaders of Nazi Germany. Known as the “Butcher of Prague,” Heydrich controlled major parts of the SS security system and played a central role in the persecution and mass murder carried out by the Third Reich. This documentary follows Czechoslovak agents Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, who were trained in Britain and parachuted into occupied Czechoslovakia. On May 27, 1942, they attacked Heydrich’s car in Prague. Although the assault did not immediately kill him, Heydrich died from his injuries several days later. We examine the planning, weapons, intelligence failures, and extraordinary courage behind Operation Anthropoid. The video also explores the brutal Nazi reprisals that followed, including the destruction of Lidice and Ležáky, mass executions, and the final battle inside the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius. Using historical records, eyewitness accounts, and wartime evidence, this documentary reveals why Heydrich was targeted and how his assassination became one of the most significant resistance operations of World War II. #ThirdReich #NaziGermany #ThirdReichHistory
