Why I said NO to NP school and became an MD instead

I get this question all the time: Why didn’t I go to NP school? It’s a fair question, especially since it seemed like the most direct route from my BSN. I seriously considered it—I even toured some of the top NP programs in the country. However, I had concerns about the variability in program structures, the differences in training standards, and the emphasis on accelerated pathways at many schools. Ultimately, I chose the path that felt right for me.
