Beyond the Curve SSOL presenter: Colleen Collins

Bio: Colleen is a Registered Psychotherapist based in Ontario, Canada, and the Founder of STC Therapy, a virtual mental health practice dedicated to supporting individuals with scoliosis and chronic pain. Colleen grew up as a competitive figure skater and was diagnosed with scoliosis at 12 years of age. Despite her diagnosis she continued to figure skater, competing at a National level. Colleen went on to earn her Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology and Masters in Counselling Psychology. Colleen combines her professional expertise with personal insight to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. Colleen works with individuals of all ages to address anxiety, depression, body image concerns, chronic pain, and the emotional impact of living with a spinal condition. In addition to supporting families affected by scoliosis, she aims to bridge the gap between mental health and scoliosis care by consulting with healthcare professionals such as surgeons, chiropractors, and physiotherapists to create an integrative and holistic approach to treatment.
