Route No. 18 is served by Trolleybus Repair and Maintenance Depot No. 2 (TRED 2) of the Kyivpastrans Enterprise, mostly with trolleybuses of the Bohdan T901.10 model. Historical information: July 28, 1960 - opening of the route on the section "Kalinina Square (now - Independence Square) - Bilytska Street"; September 24, 1963 - shortening of the route to Demyan Korotchenko Street (now - Oleny Telhy); October 2, 1963 - the route was restored along the previous route; November 1, 1963 - the route was extended to Taras Shevchenko Square; from February 16, 1981 - runs from Soviet Square (Constitution) to Shevchenko Square; from March 8, 1981 - the terminus was changed to Bohdan Khmelnytsky Square; from December 9, 1981 - the terminus was returned, but with the renamed name "October Revolution Square"; December 1, 1985 - the route was extended to Soshenka Street; August 26, 1991 - the terminus "October Revolution Square" was renamed to Independence Square; March 30, 1995 - the route was shortened to Sofia Square; October 1, 1994 - the route from Independence Square to Soshenka Street was returned; May 17 - 23, 2014 - the route was extended to the newly built ring road on the Minsk Massif; from May 24, 2014 - the old terminal "Soshenka Street" was returned due to complaints and protests from local residents. It still runs today.
