Advanced Python Alpha Development Using FFT and Machine Learning

This webinar focuses on how Python can be used to improve and extend alpha research beyond the limits of Fast Expression. The session explains how researchers can translate existing Fast Expression alphas into Python, compare their performance, and then use Python’s flexibility to build more creative and unique alpha operators. The webinar mainly covers two advanced techniques. The first is the use of Fourier Transformation, especially Fast Fourier Transform, to decompose an alpha signal into slow and fast frequency components. The second is the use of machine learning, especially hierarchical clustering, to create custom group fields that can be used with group operators. The key idea is that Python allows researchers to use advanced mathematical, statistical, signal-processing, and machine-learning methods in alpha development. This makes it possible to understand alpha behavior more deeply, reduce noise, discover hidden signal components, and create new group structures directly from data.
