Helicopter Camping in Idaho

We're taking the Guppy (an Enstrom F28F Helicopter) up to Smiley Creek, Idaho for a bit of weekend camping. Smiley Creek is just about 40 miles NW of Hailey, Idaho, home to Sun Valley Ski Resort. On the flight in we cruise along the ridges of the Sawtooths and talk about what it's like to fly a light helicopter like this in the high mountains (note: I'm not a CFI, so if you're planning on doing some mountain flying it's always good to get professional instruction). Thanks for watching! Stick around to the end for some bonus footage of some of the Bush planes taking off from Smiley Creek (and a Cessna185 landing at Upper Loon Creek). 00:00 - Start 00:13 - Intro 01:43 - Liftoff near Gooding Idaho 10:07 - Ridge Soaring up the Foothills of the Sawtooths 26:57 - Crossing the Ridge to Smiley Creek 31:39 - Smiley Creek Landing 34:43 - Bonus: Bush Planes taking off in the Morning
