Purple Haze by Larry Coryell and Paul Santa Maria

I am uploading this because the released versions of this song and "House Burning Down" are not good, if you ask me. I recorded a beautiful stereo mix (use headphones and judge for thyself) and then, after the fact, without my consent, percussion and a whole drum track was recorded over the top of my mix. Any serious sound engineer knows (A) that by doing this, you lose the "air" that was in the original recording and (B) trying to lay a new drum track on top of an existing one is an exercise in futility and insanity for all the obvious reasons. The less obvious reason was that Mr. Coryell had me do a sequenced drum track, and I was given about 6 hours to do both songs, some of which were in 7/4 time signature. As a "power trio", this necessitates a LOT of programming so as not to repeat the many fills and accents that would happen. Lots of sequenced fills UNDERNEATH a second, LIVE drum track? But, he's a legend, so they let it pass. I can't. Here is Purple Haze (lead guitar is played on my 1977 Les Paul). The good thing is, I got to keep the Tascam 4 track for my efforts.
