Samurai Warriors 4-II - Survival Mode | Floors 81-100

This is the end of Survival Mode, where the game throws the hardest it has to offer at you. The last two floors are particularly unique, and particularly hard. 29:07 - Floor 99 - The game tells you to "Overcome your fears by defeating the phantoms!" But the only enemy is Kotaro, so it's really telling you to overcome Kotaro. Kotaro has been hounding you, the player, throughout the entire Survival Mode castle. Sometimes he just stares at you, other times he attacks you, and never says a damn thing. Yeah, it is kinda creepy so the statement isn't entirely wrong. For this stage, he repeatedly attacks you with wave after wave of phantoms that all disappear before you get to kill them. Eventually you have to fight two at once and that keeps up for a while. Defeat enough and then you get to fight one final phantom to the end. Defeating that one finishes the floor. I dunno if this is something only Kotaro does, or if it's something the game does where you just fight yourself. Either way, it seems very fitting for Kotaro. 30:20 - Floor 100 - This is the hardest thing the game has to throw at you. First we have Smurf Keiji. Take his health down some and he'll summon sumos to help him. Not much of a threat. After that is Smurf Tadakatsu. Approach him and he'll summon two more versions of himself for you to take down as well. Still not too bad to deal with, provided you brought your Rage back up after dealing with Keiji. Next we have Smurf Nobunaga. Papa Smurf here sends out the entire Smurf village to take you on. By that I mean you have to fight every Smurf version of the officers you fought on your way through Survival Mode all over again. Except this time they all have absurd Floor 100 stats. So yeah, they all hit like a truck and have hit stun resistance out the ass. Once they're all defeated, Smurf Nobunaga will face you directly. He's just one officer so he's not too hard all on his own. But don't relax once you take him down, because you aren't done. Smurf Yukimura appears and decides he's going to be the final boss now. He did say he'd challenge us again when he was defeated earlier in Survival Mode, so he's just fulfilling his promise. Yukimura is buffed up to the max and he heals himself twice during the fight but they aren't full heals. With Rage active, he should go down just like anyone else. Once he's defeated, Survival Mode is officially finished. You can keep going forward in Survival Mode, but 100 is pretty much the end. There's absolutely no reason to keep going other than sheer masochism. Anyways, this was a fun little distraction. not as good as SW2's Survival Mode but it wasn't the worst one I've ever played. It at least had some unique stuff with all the Smurf versions of the characters. ...Why the hell were they all Smurfs anyways?
