Speech therapy toy to increase prelinguistic skills: joint attention, imitation, & language.
You can purchase this cute piggy bank here: https://amzn.to/2FOTb34 This piggy bank toy is a great example of how to increase joint attention, imitation, language, turn taking skills and other developmental skills. I offer lots of strategies to get your child excited about playing with you and slowly learn to engage and imitate more. Children on the autism spectrum usually struggle with joint attention and imitation, so we want to make sure to help establish a solid foundation and slowly build from there. You don't need fancy toys, just get at your child's level, make it fun and exciting, reduce questions and prompts to "say" what you want them to say and just model what you would like your child to do and say. Thank you so much for watching! I wish you the best:) If you enjoyed this video or have any questions, please leave a comment.
