In addition to its natural and landscape significance, the Przeczyce Reservoir serves flood control purposes as well as tourism and recreation (a recreational area for residents of the Upper Silesian Industrial Area). The reservoir is used for fishing and sailing. Water was drawn from the intake located in the head dam and then transferred to the Brynica River basin (since the mid-1990s, water transfer has not taken place, despite the possibility of such transfer). The reservoir also provides the required flow in the Czarna Przemsza River below the head dam, which is crucial for meeting the water needs of, among others, the Będzin CHP plant. The 3-star Paradise Mierzęcice Guesthouse is located just a 15-minute drive from Siewierski Castle and offers guests 9 rooms.
