Today we went to 2 pasar in Penang, Taman Free School and Batu Lanchang. The former is opened in the mornings, while the latter usually gets busy around lunchtime. People usually would do their marketing and then stop for a quick breakfast or lunch before going home so many of these hawkers have been open for many years. The good thing is many recipes have remained the same and serve the same good food from decades ago. We had char koay teow, wan than mee, ban chang kuih and even packed some Thai style economy rice dishes home for lunch, at these two locations!
