Luck Mode itself means all the stats are drastically lowered, but Luck is set to it's in-game limit - 99. It doesn't make the game any more interesting like this. Which is why here, instead of 99, Luck is set to 999. This gives Alucard frequent and powerful crits, and, upon acquiring a Talisman - automatic dodge out of any hit, which changes gameplay tactics a lot and even allows some new routes through the game.
