On the picturesque Walchensee in Upper Bavaria, Kilian Boehm pursues his rare profession: He is one of only two professional fishermen permitted to cast their nets here. In the deep, clear waters, he primarily catches ruffed bream, a coveted delicacy. His work begins early in the morning, often accompanied by seagulls hoping for prey. After the catch, the fish goes directly to the farm's own slaughterhouse, where they are processed. Kilian supplies top regional restaurants and also sells his specialties directly to customers.
