From Sander Lakes to the Lech Floodplains | A Nature Walk Along Lakeshore Paths & Riverside Trails

Join me on a peaceful early summer walk in July from Sander Lake into the beautiful Lech floodplains of Bavaria. The weather is cool and unsettled for the season, with temperatures around 15°C (59°F), strong winds, changing clouds, and occasional rain showers. We begin our journey at the lakeside and follow a quiet path around the water before crossing open farmland. Along the way, I was delayed by a question that led to a friendly conversation with a local gentleman, before continuing toward the River Lech. Following a narrow riverside trail upstream, the adventure takes an unexpected turn as I briefly lose the path and make my way through the bushes before finding the route again. Back on the flood embankment, we continue through the peaceful landscape and eventually return toward the lake. As the day draws to a close, the clouds begin to break and the walk ends with a touch of evening sunshine over the water.
