[Video] Straßenbahn Schöndorff T2 | #954 | Rheinbahn AG Düsseldorf

In September 2012, a video was made on a Schondorff T2 tram (No. 954) of Rheinbahn AG Dusseldorf. The video was made between Dusseldorf-Lierenfeld Betriebshof and Dusseldorf central station. In the 1920s, the Rheinische Bahngesellschaft AG Dusseldorf (since 2005 Rheinbahn AG) purchased numerous two-axle tram cars from various manufacturers. Tram number 954 comes from a series of 50 two-axle trams (928-977) that were built by the Schondorff wagon factory from 1927 to 1929. The so-called "six-window car" was added to the historic fleet after it was decommissioned in 1969. It is presented to the public on special occasions by the Rheinbahn and the local transport enthusiasts "Linie D - Arbeitsgemeinschaft historischer Nahverkehr Dusseldorf e.V." (non-profit association). For the Open Monument Day 2012, there was a shuttle service with historic trams to the Marstallgiebel on Erkrather Str. The historic trams ran every 20 minutes between Dusseldorf central station and the Lierenfeld depot. They used a route on which no regular service has taken place since the opening of the "Stadtbahn" tunnel (1993).
