Carlo Jung on "Endoscopic internal drainage and low negative-pressure endoscopic vacuum therapy for anastomotic leaks after oncologic upper gastrointestinal surgery" Authors: Carlo M. F. Jung, Rachel Hallit, Annegret Müller-Dornieden et al. Summary: Endoscopic internal drainage and low negative-pressure endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) were compared in this retrospective study of patients with leaks after upper gastrointestinal surgery. Both techniques were found to have high rates of clinical success in managing leakage, but EVT achieved closure with a significantly shorter treatment duration, although it was more labor-intensive.
