Mixing Film Audio in 5.1 Surround Sound vs. Stereo

In this video I explain the differences between mixing film audio in 5.1 Surround Sound versus in Stereo. I also highlight the differences in how a 5.1 panner works, how to decide what to pan to the back surround speakers, what to send to the LFE speaker, and how Pro Tools shows multitrack audio files in Film order where most distributors require SMPTE order instead. Also just to note, you will need a Pro Tools HD or Ultimate license to be able to mix in 5.1.
