Birding Ireland June 2023
we did some occasional birding during a one week family holiday early June. Unfortunately we got the company of 'Poly', which turned out to be the strongest summer storm recorded during the last 50 years. Hurricane -force wind gusts reaching over 140 km/h were recorded. So not really the ideal holiday weather. Filming and sound recording were almost impossible. The tripod was useless and only some hand shot footage provided acceptable image quality after stabilisation during post processing. However, in the storm we got spectacular skies, crushing waves, misty mountains and creepy old graveyards!
