is this the best BIRD WATCHING reserve in Victoria?? (GOSCHEN Victoria Australia)

DECEMBER 2022 This week we take you to a fascinating part of Victoria, 4 hours north west of Melbourne. Lake Boga & Goschen Bushland Reserve. After a failed attempt on our last Mallee trip home, we were pleasantly surprised on this trip to see so many birds and, even better, to not be eaten by giant mosquitoes!! Goschen is a very well known birding location in Victoria as many species of birds are attracted to the vegetation. It also has a really interesting history as it was the location of a planned town but it never went ahead (even though a hall & tennis court remain on the property. Lake Boga turned out to be a really pleasant surprise too! After all the rain this year, the lake was very high (still flooding on the sides of roads in some areas). And this town also has a really amazing history! During World War II, the town & lake were used as a top secret location to service Australian & US "flying boats". Birds we saw on this trip were: Hooded Robin White-browed Woodswallow Masked Woodswallow Purple-backed Fairywren White-winged Triller White-breasted Woodswallow Rainbow Bee-eater Rufous Songlark Red-rumped Parrot Welcome Swallow Singing Honeyeater Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/yeti-music/so-high Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/kevin-macleod/cl...
