A Very Long Table, 30 People, and One Kitchen Running on Chaos and Olive Oil

The Sunday Table is a dinner party series on how to build community in your home by cooking big meals and inviting too many people over. This video walks you through the timeline of a 30 person long lunch that lingers for hours over asparagus lasagna, big salads to start, then buttery scallion trout with a saffron and buttered almond rice salad, and roasted asparagus. We finish off with a big sponge cake with whipped mascarpone and roasted rhubarb. It might seem like a lot of moving parts, but it’s simpler than you think, and it means everyone sits down at the table for a long time eating and talking, which is always my goal. There’s always room for one more, the wine flows, the conversations get deep, and it’s the best part of my month, everytime.
