Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a role-playing video game developed by the Czech studio Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver. The game was officially released on April 18, 2024, and launched on February 4, 2025, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is the sequel to the previous installment, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, released in 2018. Gameplay: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an open-world role-playing game set in a medieval world. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II strives for realism and attempts to recreate the medieval period as faithfully as possible (although several historical elements are fictionalized or adapted, sacrificing historical accuracy for the sake of the gameplay experience—a deliberate choice by the development studio). The player must maintain their equipment, sharpening their bladed weapons on a grindstone to improve their effectiveness, or repairing, cleaning, or having their armor and clothing cleaned, using the game's currency, Groschen. Non-player characters (NPCs) react to the player character's appearance, whether it be their clothing choices or their hygiene. The game pushes realism to the point of incorporating historical social practices, particularly regarding crime. For example, it is frowned upon, even illegal, to walk through towns and villages at night without carrying a light. These various infractions can result in a fine, being pilloried, being imprisoned, or even, in the worst-case scenario, execution. Furthermore, in this quest for immersion, NPCs can deduce your connection to crime, even without directly witnessing it, if, for example, you have been seen in a house where an item has been stolen. On February 5, 2025, the day after its release, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II surpassed one million copies sold, whereas the first game took two weeks to reach this milestone. Furthermore, after just 24 hours on sale, the title had already gathered over 159,351 concurrent players on the Steam platform. On February 13, 2025, as the RPG approached two million units sold, Embracer announced that it had just exceeded the company's projections. Then, on February 17, 2025, Warhorse Studios officially confirmed the two million sales mark. On May 4, 2025, nearly three months after its release, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II surpassed three million copies sold. For comparison, the first game took over two years to reach this milestone.
