Psychedelic Future Blues Rock Jam | Guitar Backing Track (D Minor) This may be my favorite jam track ever... Seriously. It is original, just something that Sean and I came up with. It reminds me of a jam by the HU band (my son's current favorite band lol). So fun to jam over! This backing track is D Aeolian (you could play Dorian too if you wanted). HOWEVER, In the B section, there is D major in the I position. In the video, I included the 3rds of the chords. Notice the 3rds all stay inside the mode, except on the D major (F#). THAT'S THE MONEY NOTE! Add it to the pentatonic or the Aeolian mode during the D chord and you will sound AMAZING. Our neck diagrams give you the notes you can use to create that melody in REAL TIME. Think of the Diagrams as 3 layers of information: 1. PENTATONIC - The pentatonic scale works all the time and almost never changes, so this is the basic level. 2. MODE - The mode will always be the pentatonic PLUS 2 NOTES (modes have 7 notes). The mode can change depending on the chords (modal interchange). 3. CHORD - The chord layer shows you the notes of the chord changes (aka the HARMONY) in REAL TIME. Outgoing notes get smaller and fade out, incoming notes will fade in, so you know what notes to go for next.
