Wapello State Park

Cab and I take a walk at Wapello State Park—the one locals jokingly call the country club of Iowa’s state parks—unfolds like a little adventure stitched into the park’s polished calm. Wapello has that manicured‑wild feel: tidy trails, handsome stonework, and then suddenly a pocket of raw nature that reminds you it’s still Iowa timber at heart. This is our fourth stop on the second day of vacation.
