Dubai Mall isn’t just for shopping—explore the best bakeries locals love, from homegrown spots to unique sweets worth fueling up on. Most visitors in Dubai end up at Dubai Mall, but few think of it as a place to do a full-blown bakery tour. In this video, I go a little off my own Ditch the Silver path and into the mall—because if you’re already here, you may as well make the visit delicious while also supporting some homegrown flavours. We start at a Japanese bakery for a Kiri cheese & custard croissant and their stuffed Eggs Benedict Cube. Then over to a chewy chocolate cookie, a s’mores cookie, and their saffron milk cake from an Emirati-owned bakery. At the Iranian patisserie, I try delicate cookies and pistachio and jam petit fours. And the only non-homegrown stop is a Chinese bakery with cranberry snowflake pastries and a seaweed meat floss bun with custard cream. Along the way, I’ll also share a simple trick about the iconic Divers Waterfall inside Dubai Mall that most people walk past without noticing.
