Trike, Truck and Ramps
Sponsorship from: Laidback Cycles: https://laidbackcycles.com/ This video starts with a chatty intro about how I went from being car-free for 15 years and ended up buying a truck and trailer. Hopefully, it is interesting. A big issue for trike riders is how to transport and then get your trike in and out of a vehicle especially when traveling or riding solo. I'm not strong enough to lift my trike especially now with the e-assist. The video is showing the ramps I use to get my trike in and out of the truck bed. I used my 360 camera to get wider shots and then zoomed in. I also used a Rode Wireless Go microphone for sound. Here is a link for the Silver Spring Ramps which I bought from DiscountRamps.com: https://www.discountramps.com/twr-v2-... I use 4' ramps that telescope to 7' because my truck has 4-wheel drive and the trail gate is higher off the ground. With the longer ramps, the slope from the truck to the ground is less steep than using shorter ramps. For me this is more comfortable. If you have a hatchback car or minivan, you could use shorter ramps that would be a bit cheaper. This channel is about all things trikes and travel. I have been riding a recumbent trike since 2005 and have been touring since 2007 all over the world. I have toured on 6 continents, in over 20 countries and cycled more than 50,000 miles. On this channel I have gear reviews, tips and tutorials but, mostly, I produce short travelogue type videos of my tours as I go. I travel with a Sony RX100 vii, GoPro, Insta360 One X, Mavic 2 Zoom drone, and an iphone. Thanks for subscribing and following along! I also have an extensive journal on Blogger that goes into much more detail about the area and the emotional ups and down. The blog has a link to Garmin stats and a map of every day's ride. There are also a ton of pictures. You can find it following this link: http://www.travelsbytrike.blogspot.com Thanks everyone!!
