Robotica en AI in de Zorg: Hoe ver zijn we?

Design a lifting robot, or a bed with which we can weigh a patient. Sure, engineers can do that, but before you know it, those solutions are gathering dust in a corner. In this TU Delft Health College, a nursing scientist and an engineer explain how robots can actually make a difference for healthcare workers and patients. Listen to how David Abbink (TU Delft) wants to use robotics to shape the future of physical work in healthcare. So, not from behind a desk at the university, but by visiting, listening, immersing oneself in the organization, and understanding the problems on the work floor in all their complexity. He does not do this alone, but with a whole team of psychologists, designers, anthropologists, organizational experts, and, most importantly, the nurses themselves. And then, as quickly as possible, take a half-finished prototype robot onto the work floor, test it with actors, and once again observe and listen very closely to see how that robot can make the work even more appealing for the nurses. The TU Delft Health College is a recurring free event where current topics and developments in the field of healthcare are discussed. The Colleges are open to everyone and are organized by the TU Delft Health Initiative. Renowned doctors, scientists, and engineers conducting research within various branches of healthcare provide insights into their field in an accessible manner. They are joined by Dutch celebrities such as André Kuipers, Hugo Borst, and Maarten van der Weijden, who have shared their personal experiences and views on healthcare in past Health Colleges. Keep an eye on the TU Delft Health Initiative website for the next Health College!
