*Author Introduction After graduating from the Department of Creative Writing at Seoul Arts University, she received the Munye Joongang Newcomer Award in 1985, at the age of twenty-two, for her novella "Winter Fable." She sparked the "Shin Kyung-sook Syndrome" by successively publishing works such as "The Place Where the Organ Was," "Deep Sorrow," and "The Isolated Room." Since then, she has expanded her literary world by publishing "Lee Jin," "A Phone Call Looking for Me Rings Somewhere," and "Unknown Women." Her million-selling novel "Please Look After Mom," for which rights have been contracted in 33 countries, was selected as a New York Times bestseller and one of Amazon.com's "Top 10 Books of the Year" (Literature Category), and is opening new horizons for Korean literature amidst favorable reviews from media around the world.
