MIGINGO: la isla MÁS SUPERPOBLADA del mundo

In the middle of Lake Victoria lies a place that defies all human logic. It's called Migingo, a rock of barely 2,000 square meters where more than 500 people live crammed together. A labyrinth of metal shacks, impossible alleyways, and constant tension over control of the "silver gold": the Nile perch. It's a human anthill where space doesn't exist. I've come here to see what life is like in a place where two countries, Kenya and Uganda, fight over every inch of stone, with armed police coexisting in a tiny space. We are here to document life and its hardships, risking our own lives alongside the fishermen in the midst of storms and delving into the darkest stories surrounding prostitution on the island. There is no sewage system or privacy, only the constant clang of corrugated iron under the sun and the smell of dried fish. It's a human time bomb surrounded by water, piracy, and extreme survival. An unintentional social experiment that demonstrates the lengths to which a person will go for a handful of dollars. This is Migingo. Total collapse.
