Rain at Runella, Sunshine at Lake Murphy

Sometimes the best camping trips don't go exactly to plan. 🤣 On our way home we stopped for the night at Runella Hipcamp, tucked away between Toowoomba and Dalby. The weather had other ideas though, with plenty of rain making our first night a little soggy. It did give us the perfect chance to test out our brand new batwing awning in less-than-ideal conditions! Thankfully our wonderful host Dennis offered us the use of the beautiful old cottage on the property while it wasn't booked, giving us a chance to explore a little piece of history complete with an old ice chest, fireplace and even a wood-fired hot water system. The next stopover was Lake Murphy Conservation Park near Taroom for a peaceful walk, a spot of bird photography and one last stretch of the legs before heading home. If you're looking for a quiet overnight stop in South East Queensland, both of these locations are well worth adding to your list. 📍 Runella Hipcamp, between Toowoomba and Dalby, Queensland 📍 Lake Murphy Conservation Park, Queensland 🎥 Mentioned in this video: • Our Bluff Creek Campgrounds (The Puddle) adventure:    • We Took Our Tucana to the Kenilworth Teard...   Thanks for stopping by!
