DSC Controller Version Types and How to Check Firmware

This video explains the DSC controller version type and how to check the firmware. The firmware can be checked for the purpose of identification of the vehicle type and the generation of the device(by date). The matching hardware and firmware together defines the controller type for a specific vehicle application. DSC does not offer firmware changes. Each DSC controller type is thoroughly tested to meet specific performance criteria for the type and the generation, therefore firmware change is unnecessary and not offered. The software(which we refer to as the Calibration File) is available for users to change using our user self-service resources. Important Notes Regarding Calibration Files: The Calibration File must be compatible with the controller type and the firmware type. Each new DSC controller comes with the Calibration File for the vehicle it was purchased for, so it is unnecessary to change the Calibration File.
