1952 Willys Jeep Pickup Restoration Project, Part 28! Today we keep pushing forward on the Willys pickup restoration. I finally wrapped up the driver’s front fender—lots of welding, crack repairs, and patching thin metal—but it’s finished and ready for the paint guy to handle the fine details. Next up: removing the hood and the passenger-side front fender. But as soon as I got that fender off… things went downhill fast. Hidden rot, terrible past repairs, random rivets, thin metal, failed welds, and patches stacked on patches. Honestly, it may be too far gone to save. But—huge news. I found a complete Willys parts truck locally. Bed, tailgate, grill, rear fenders, doors, cab, hood—everything. And several pieces are FAR better than what we currently have. This is a massive step forward for the project and will save weeks (maybe months) of fabrication. In this video, I walk through the fender teardown, show the condition of the hood after sandblasting, and go through every part of the newly purchased parts truck so you can see what’s usable and what’s getting sold off.
