Backdraft is a show attraction based on the movie Backdraft. This attraction, popular in Hollywood, was introduced to Universal Studios Japan (USJ) when the park opened in 2001. Its implementation at USJ surprised many, given rumors that fire safety regulations would make it difficult to bring it to Japan. The attraction fit perfectly with USJ's concept of "showcasing behind-the-scenes movie magic."
