On July 3, in the Church of the Holy Family in Ramallah, Father Jeries Abu Khalil was ordained to the priesthood by the laying on of hands of His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem. It was a day of celebration for the entire local Church. In this video, we relive the most poignant moments of the celebration: the moving testimony of his mother, Helen Abu Khalil, who 22 years ago made a promise to God, offering Him the best of his sons; the words of Father Bernard Poggi, Rector of the Patriarchal Seminary of Beit Jala, which has been preparing pastors for the Church of the Holy Land for 175 years; and the Patriarch's homily, which invited the new priest not to fear carrying the wounds of Christ, because they are an integral part of the priestly journey.
