Getting To Know Minnesota Mushrooms with Ron Spinosa
This is a presentation that Ron has given annually at MMS meetings and for other interested groups. Come and celebrate the wonderful world of mushrooms. You will be amazed at the incredible variety of colors, sizes and shapes that abound in the Kingdom of Fungi. This presentation will emphasize the absolutely essential role of fungi for life on earth. The focus will then be on getting to know mushrooms. Included will be the basics of mushroom identification and a survey of some common edible and poisonous mushrooms of Minnesota. Ron Spinosa is a past president of the Minnesota Mycological Society and current chair of the MMS Identification Committee. He has given many presentations and workshops on mushrooms at nature centers, museums, schools, and garden clubs. Ron was a recipient of The Harry and Elsie Knighton Service Award by the North American Mycological Association in 2011.
