Hiking Mount Frissell, Round Mountain and Brace Mountain - Connecticut State High Point

This hike takes place in the Mount Washington State Forest northeast of Millerton, NY. The goal of this hike is to the highest point in Connecticut, the summit of Mount Frissell (2,380’) the summit of Round Mountain (2,292'), and the summit of Brace Mountain (2,323'). The highest point in Connecticut is not the summit of a mountain, but the southwest shoulder of Mount Frissell, which is 2,380 feet (725 m) above sea level. The highest mountain summit in Connecticut is Bear Mountain, which is about 1.3 miles (2.1 km) to the east-southeast of Mount Frissell and has an elevation of 2,323 feet (708 m). Both mountains are part of the Taconic Range and can be reached by hiking trails. This trail is definitely class 2. There is limited parking at the trailhead.
