Comacchio CH 450 Micropiles Chiomonte
At the Chiomonte construction site in the Susa Valley, the Turin-based company TERRA.CON carried out the foundation piles for the viaduct piers providing access to the high-speed rail base tunnel. Two Comacchio CH 450 drilling rigs were used for the job, chosen for their operational efficiency in a geologically complex area rich in large boulders. The use of down-the-hole hammers and targeted technical solutions made it possible to reduce costs and simplify logistics compared to the use of larger machines.
