Bypassing a lost Xbox360 Parental Controls pass-code

What to do if you've bought a second hand Xbox360 with an unknown Parental Controls code, or forgotten your own, and can't reset it? Luckily, the Xbox360 has no lockout for multiple retries, so a brute-force attack is a viable alternative.
