More Power! First Flight of My GyroBee with Rotax 503

In this video, I take my GyroBee autogyro on its first flight after upgrading to a newer Rotax 503 engine. The previous setup used an older 49 hp version of the Rotax 503 with a single carburetor and basic (single) ignition. The new engine features dual carburetors and dual ignition, producing around 55 hp — a noticeable boost in power and reliability. The difference in thrust is immediately felt during takeoff and climb. The GyroBee now has stronger low-end torque, better throttle response, and improved overall performance in the air. It feels smoother, more stable, and much more responsive — especially in vertical performance and cruise stability. If you're flying with an older 503 or considering an upgrade for your ultralight or experimental gyro, this test flight highlights what kind of improvement you can expect.
