Baby’s Day Out (1994) – What Should Have Been the Next Home Alone

It’s easy to write off Baby’s Day Out as just another Home Alone knockoff but there’s a lot more to the story. In this retrospective, I take a look at how John Hughes’ follow-up to one of the biggest hits of the ’90s got lost in its shadow, dismissed as a punchline, and also why it deserves a second look. To help me tell the story, I was joined by the great Brian Haley, who played one of the kidnappers. With insights from someone who was there to see it all happen, this is the deepest dive I’ve ever done on a movie and one that might just change how you remember Baby’s Day Out.
