Analyzing the metal scene of the 90s is to delve into one of the most interesting, yet tense, periods in the music industry, where the scene was one of rupture: while Seattle grunge redefined global aesthetics, the hard rock bands that dominated the 80s desperately tried to find a new direction. The result was a collection of albums that, at the time, were received with strangeness, but today sound like courageous experiments by musicians trying to survive the change and are excellent within the sound they were seeking.
