🎆 Singapore New Year’s Eve at Marina Bay | Crowd Ambience & Fireworks

Singapore New Year’s Eve at Marina Bay, capturing the crowd ambience as people gather from the evening and wait for the midnight fireworks. This video documents the crowd situation before and during the New Year’s Eve fireworks, focusing on atmosphere rather than highlights. I spent the evening on Jubilee Bridge from around 4 pm, observing the atmosphere and how the crowd changed as the night progressed. While the video focuses purely on crowd scenes, meeting and interacting with people from different countries became a big part of my personal New Year’s Eve experience. Over the course of the evening, I met fellow photographers who were also there early, patiently waiting for the countdown. A Middle Eastern man who is a music teacher was busking on Jubilee Bridge, adding music and warmth to the atmosphere. I also met a PMET from Hyderabad, as well as a young lady and her friend from Bali, Indonesia — all of them working in Singapore, each with their own reasons for being here. One of the most memorable encounters was with a kind lady from Ukraine who was on a stopover in Singapore. We spoke at length about life in Ukraine — their economy, politics, and the realities of living through conflict. What she shared offered perspectives that are very different from what we usually read in the press. These conversations happened off camera, but they shaped how I experienced the crowd and the night itself. This video is meant as a record of the crowd situation and ambience before and during the New Year’s Eve fireworks — a snapshot of what it felt like to be there, waiting together, as one year ended and another began.
