Isn't this discriminatory and contrary to other aspects of the Gospel? In this video, we explore in detail the meaning of the verses found in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy regarding the prohibition against women speaking and teaching in the church. In this analysis, I try to provide useful (historical and contextual) information to go a little beyond what we have always believed they mean. We also become familiar with the ministerial work of women throughout the Old and New Testaments, which in turn shows us that these verses most likely sought to resolve a specific problem in the early church, rather than creating a universal prohibition against women speaking.
