2001 Glass Masters Series Robert Mickelsen
In 2001, our first International Flameworking Conference, featured and celebrated the career of Robert Mickelsen whose work has inspired a new wave of creative people at the torch. Mickelsen's signature art work is influenced by organic forms from the plant kingdom, non-referential free standing work and at times folk-art inspired sculpture. Occasionally, his inspirations come from reinterpreting historic glass-working techniques a contemporary vision. The result reflects an edgy contemporary attitude that permeates his objects. Robert is a natural teacher who generously shares techniques with younger artists. I am proud to present a video of Robert Mickelsen's demonstration ... at our first conference.
