WiDS 2025 Global Datathon Workshop #1: Introduction to the Challenge and Dataset

In this workshop, instructors provide an in-depth introduction to the WiDS 2025 Global Datathon Challenge and its general tasks. Instructors go through the general outline and timeline of the challenge. They also provide a breakdown of the Kaggle page and how to utilize and navigate it efficiently. Lastly, the instructors will discuss the details, origin, and function of each categorical variable included in the dataset. This workshop is the first of three Global Challenge workshops presented by WiDS Interns Caterina Ponti and Kylie Cancilla, and WiDS ambassador Liana Mendoza.
