🇬🇷 House Hunting in Greece. Market, Prices, Strategy, Pitfalls.

A friend has been looking to buy property in Greece to live in permanently. For the last 2 months I have been following his journey and learning about the types of property available to buy in Greece, The current market and prices, A best strategy for approaching a rising and lively market, and some of the pitfalls to avoid when purchasing in Greece. Are Greek Property Prices rising? Where are they likely to rise? Will they continue to rise? and what is driving the market? Real Estate in Athens and The Greek Islands has always been popular, but now the Peloponnese and other Coastal Areas of Greece also seem to be benefitting from investment in Property, especially from Foreigners looking to Buy a Holiday Home or perhaps Retire to Greece. My friend has up to $500k to spend on a forever property here, and it is proving surprisingly hard. The market in some areas of the Peloponnese is very much geared to foreigners buying, Mani and Messenia for example, where villas are available but prices are perhaps inflated. However this now seems to be changing. In the Peloponnese, especially around the coast line in Areas close to Nafplio, Kalamata and Patras prices now seem to have started to increase, and this could be just the start of a long period of Property and House Price Growth in Greece, which has been traditionally limited to Athens and the Greek Islands for FDI.
