John Andretti Crash, Upset at Tony Stewart - 1999 NAPA AutoCare 500

John Andretti was having a great run at the 1999 NAPA AutoCare 500. He was running 2nd and catching leader Mike Skinner at a good clip. Things were looking good for the #43 STP Pontiac to get a Martinsville sweep. However, Tony Stewart, who was 105 laps down, got into Rich Bickle. Bickle spun in front of Bobby Hamliton, who had to stop in order to not run into Rich. John moved up high to try to avoid the wreck only to smash into the back of the stopped Bobby Hamliton's car. There's a great shot of John smashing into the back of Hamilton's car and the camera surviving the impact. Instead of a possible win, he finished last. It was tough end of the season for the #43 team as they seemed to have bad luck every race they went to. Andretti seemed upset at Tony Stewart, stating that 'one guy' was 'terrorizing' the place, took him out at Pocono (in July 1999), and needing to 'settle down.' Video is for awareness purposes only.
