Kayak fishing targeting LEERVIS & SPOTTED GRUNTER in Knysna Lagoon | LIGHT TACKLE ESTUARY FISHING

It's the second episode of Reel Fishing, and boy do we have a screaming reel for you! With a cold front and pressure drop that has just pushed through, making for challenging fishing conditions. I try my luck with a quick morning session trying to sight fish in the shallows, with Mud Prawn, for the elusive Spotted Grunter off the kayak in the Knysna Lagoon. Using ultra light tackle, it is always so much fun targeting any species willing to munch on a live Mud Prawn. On the way to the mud banks, I toss out a Mcarthy 4' Paddle tail about 8 meters behind the kayak, and give it a quick trawl for Leervis while paddling across the channel. While being quiet and stationary on the mud flats, I receive a pleasant visit from a friendly Diamond Ray. Which swam right up to the kayak, before turning away. Did not have much luck on the grunter front. There was unfortunately no tailing whatsoever on the mud banks. This has a lot to do with the pressure drop due to the cold front, as well as the tides.
