Grounding and Bonding
This is a brief walk through of a simple grounding and bonding system, and what happens with the flow of current in normal operation, and in a ground fault condition. There are no Code Rule references, however please be advised terminologies follow the 2015 Canadian Electrical Code. Please be advised that in the last scenario, where there is only the path through ground, depending upon your location, there may not be sufficiently low impedance to trip the main overcurrent.
