Effects of Climate Change on Species and Ecosystems: June 15th, 2026
This presentation will discuss how climate change is impacting species and ecosystems, both directly and by exacerbating non-climate stressors. Conservation strategies to address this issue will also be discussed. Presenter: Rick Schneider, Retired, Volunteer for Conservation, Board Member, Audubon Spring Creek Prairie Presenter Bio: Rick is retired from the NE Game and Parks Commission where he served as the head of the Nebraska Natural Heritage Program from 1996-2019. He was also the co-chair of the Nebraska Natural Legacy Project from 2002-2019. Prior to working for the Commission, Rick worked as an ecologist for The Nature Conservancy in Minnesota and the U.S. Forest Service in Montana.
