Mount Everest: Ich musste an einer Leiche vorbei!⎥Auf Klo
She was a successful fashion editor at Vogue, but wanted more from life. And so she went from the climbing wall in a New York studio to the highest mountains in the world – Helga Hengge (@helgahengge) is an extreme mountaineer and the first German woman to successfully climb and descend Mount Everest. Helga was in her late twenties and frustrated with her job when she set out in search of new adventures. Her first major expedition was in Argentina. While relatives recommended the Zugspitze, Helga always wanted to go higher: 7,000 meters on Aconcagua. Back then, she booked everything without the internet, trained for six months, and climbed the mountain over Christmas. Today, she says it was a naive anticipation; she dared to try something new without knowing too much about it. Helga has retained this childlike joy of discovery to this day. Her equipment has become a bit more professional. After her first ascent, Helga traveled from mountain to mountain, securing her place in the male-dominated community. In 1999, two and a half years later, she dared to climb Mount Everest – as the only woman on the team. Helga tells Lisa what it was like at that dizzying height, how her life changed afterward, and whether she would do it all again today. 0:00 Intro 0:32 Helga's Lifelong Dream 2:25 This is Helga! 3:09 Is Lisa Ready for Everest? 7:43 Shocking Everest Experiences 9:13 Constantly in Danger 9:29 The Most Beautiful Moment 10:29 What Happened After the Trip? 12:06 Outro Editor and Director: Marie Kamprath Camera: Vincent Editing: Katharina Frucht, Dimitri Stratakis #AufKlo Two people.
